President, School Council (previously Treasurer)
Murrumbeena Primary School · Murrumbeena, Melbourne
President of the Murrumbeena Primary School Council after two years as its Treasurer — school governance, finances and the community campaign for a new hall.
Overview
Victorian government school councils are the governing boards of their schools: they set strategic direction, approve budgets and policies, and represent the school community. Jenks served two years as Treasurer of the Murrumbeena Primary School Council and is now its President.
What Jenks does
- Chairs the council and works with the principal on strategy, policy and community engagement.
- As Treasurer, oversaw the school council's finances, budget and financial reporting.
- Leads the parent and community campaign to win state funding for a competition-grade multipurpose hall and community hub — research, costing, letters, petitions, stakeholder meetings and an AI- and agent-friendly campaign platform he built (see Projects).
Why it matters to employers
This is real boardroom experience: governance, fiduciary oversight, chairing meetings and leading volunteers toward a public-funding outcome. It complements Jenks's corporate roles with evidence of board-level judgement and community leadership.
